    Recent College Graduate Success Group

    Graduating from college is a momentous occasion. If you’re wondering how to take the next step in finding that first post-grad job, you are not alone. Join the JVS Recent College Graduate Success group to learn and practice the skills you will need in the job search. Participants will meet in a virtual group setting for four weeks. Topics will include writing resumes and cover letters, networking, interviewing, and job search strategies. It is expected that participants will attend all four sessions.

    This group is open to recent college graduates between the ages of 21 and 25 who live in Detroit or Metro Detroit and graduated any time after January 2020.

    Improve your computer skills and increase your confidence at work! Program includes two group classes per week for six weeks. Each class is two hours. Classes are held online via Zoom with an instructor from the Hermelin ORT Resource Center. Additional assignments are included for enhanced learning outside of class time.
    Each six-week program costs $400. Full and partial scholarships available for qualified applicants. Scholarship applications must be submitted prior to class for consideration.

    HarMoney Down Payment Assistance Program

    HarMoney is designed to help low to moderate income families with a credit score of 620 and below with funds to pay for some collections and/or down payment assistance towards the purchase of a new home. This conversation will discuss the program, how to register, what to expect and a more in depth discussion about the benefits.

    Participants will be expected to successfully complete a 90-day program (with 12 weekly sessions) learning about credit, savings, money management and home ownership. Program is open to residents of Oakland County.

    The next class will begin on Monday, February 8, 2021.
